The core
features of the Mb_GIS Utility Enterprise Edition are as follows:
Multilayer technology
encompassing web and application clients, objects components encapsulating
business logic, running on J2EE application servers and database systems.
Single point of access
to different utility applications – including GIS, workflow system,
documentation repository and SCADA measurements. The use of web access helps
minimise TCO by limiting hardware requirements and ensuring truly ubiquitous
access to the system.
The specialised
editing and analytical application Mb_GIS Editor is designed for advanced users.
The application extends the standard GIS functionality by adding utility
functions, map to network model transformation, time-based symbols and figures
depicting SCADA measurements and simulation data, e.g. changes in pressure for
the selected network nodes over time. Versioning and long-lasting transactions
ensure state-of-the-art edition and modelling in multi-user environments.
The information from
SCADA is also available in the form of detailed measurements in the Mb_MDW
system. The measurements can be verified against defined normative values,
displayed on reports and figures. Therefore, the information gathered by SCADA
becomes available for every system user in a uniform interface.
The map layers are
tightly integrated with the Mb_AM/FM asset database. All the attribute data of
the assets can be used to visualise the assets on the map. In particular, the
way the objects are displayed may indicate whether they are the subject of some
orders or have been repaired during last year, as well as include current
readings of the water flow available from the MB_MDb database.
Numerous map displays
may be served at the same time to answer the needs of different departments.
Thanks to the web-based architecture and licensing terms, this makes the Mb_GIS
system accessible by all the staff working with the maps.
Integrated document
repository with version tracking and advanced permission system provides the
basis for building efficient archive of both scanned documentation and files.
The Mb_GIS Utility
software is based on recognised database servers including Oracle and Ms SQL
Server, brand ESRI GIS servers and open standards and protocols. This makes the
further integration not only possible, but also straightforward and efficient.
